Gilead is a global biopharma company headquartered in California and is the 8th biggest pharma company in the world based on 2017 revenue. Gilead employs 10,000 people serving 130 countries across six continents. Gilead’s therapeutic areas of focus include HIV/AIDS, liver diseases, haematology and oncology, inflammatory and respiratory diseases and cardiovascular conditions. Sourcing is a relatively new function within Gilead and it is Andrew’s responsibility to build (indirect) sourcing capability within EMEA and Asia, leveraging wherever possible our global spend. China is a new market for Gilead and this has been a focus for Andrew, and also a key achievement to set up sourcing there during my 1.5 years at Gilead.
Ditte is the CPO at Lundbeck, a global mid-sized pharmaceutical company specializing in diseases related to the central nervous system (CNS). Ditte has held a number of different positions within Group Sourcing in Lundbeck starting out as a Category Manager and for the past 8 years heading different functions from Operations to Strategic Sourcing. Previously Ditte held procurement positions within the media and retail industry. Over the past years Lundbeck’s Sourcing function has adopted e-procurement, undergone an outsourcing of operational and tactical sourcing as well as implemented global procurement governance and support, all of which Ditte would love to share the ups and downs of. Iouri joined CSL Behring’s Global CAPEX Sourcing team in Bern, Switzerland in June 2018 as a Global Category Lead, and currently supports a number of categories, such as Automation, Fill&Finish, Visual Inspection, Packaging and Track&Trace. Prior to CSL Behring, Iouri held a role of Global Category Manager for indirect categories with focus on IT and Professional Services in two largest brewers, SABMiller and Anheuser-Busch InBev, and before that his procurement career took form in Rio Tinto, a multinational miner, where here he started as a team lead, based in Montreal, Canada, supporting IT procurement and then business process outsourcing and process transformation projects. Prior to his ongoing journey through the worlds of procurement, outsourcing and business process optimization, over the period of 10+ years Iouri pursued his career in the world of IT in Toronto and Ottawa, Canada, in the roles of a software developer, project manager and satellite network engineer. During Annabelle’s career, she has been responsible for building and managing global, European and domestic brand/medical strategy across multiple stakeholders, regions, countries, and medical and marketing disciplines. As an integrated strategist she has worked across multiple therapeutic categories, including immunology (biologics and biosimilars), ophthalmology, GI, virology, orphan and rare disease, cardiology, neurology, and more.
She started her career at Abbott Laboratories in the United Kingdom as a primary and secondary sales representative before moving to the agency side of the business when she joined VB Communications and Jago Pearce (now part of Huntsworth Health). Annabelle plays a pivotal role in our ongoing procurement relationships globally across all our disciplines, where she is involved with relationship management, rate and contract negotiations, leading responses to RFIs and RFPs, and coordinating the network around the world for our clients and new business pitches. She also maintains the integrity of our global network and presently supports the development of our Asia Pacific, Middle East and Latin America regional capabilities.
Annabelle graduated from Edinburgh University with a Bachelor of Science (Hons) degree specialising in physiology and cardiovascular pharmacology in 1995. Massimiliano Francone was born in Milan and has a Master Degree in Electrical Engineering from Politecnico di Milano and an Executive MBA from MIP Business School of Politecnico di Milano.He has over 20 years’ experience in Oil&Gas and Power Sectors where he covered roles of growing responsibility within Engineering, Project Management, Sales and General Management for both large International Corporation as Siemens, Tyco and UTC and small and mid-size Italian Company. He joined Enel Group in 2014 as Head of Sale of Large Customer Solutions at Enel Energia providing gas and electricity, distributed generation, efficiency system, flexibility, and energy services to C&I customers. From 2018, he is Head of Global Origination at Commercial Office of Enel Green Power, responsible for the scouting and origination of long term PPAs for new renewable capacity worldwide with industrial, commercial and non-traditional off-takers
